DCA Awards

Awards

Two awards are given by the DCA for articles published in Dinghy Cruising each year:
  1. The Naylor Noggin for the best cruise report and
  2. The Peter Bick Cup or 'Peter's Pint' for the best technical article.
The winner of the Noggin is chosen by the Editor after consultation with the DCA Committee.  The winner of the  Peter Bick Cup is chosen by the DCA Technical Advisor.   Winners are announced at the AGM.    To read more about the history of these awards, the criteria used in selecting winners and to see a list of past winners  follow these links:

Three awards are given in the DCA South Coast Region to members who have completed the Hayling Challenge during  the   Cobnor Camp fortnight in August.   Those taking part sail, row or paddle around Hayling Island on a day of their choosing, starting and finishing at Cobnor Hard.   The winners are selected    in a fairly arbitrary way on the basis of their  written sailing reports.  The awards are:
  1. The Hayling Challenge trophy
  2. The Allan Earl award provided by Len Wingfield for traditionally rigged boats and
  3. The Gunter Grail added by Chris Waite because gunter rigs deserve a special mention too.
