The South West Regional Secretary is John Lidstone. If you have any questions about the rally programme  or would like to join a rally prior to becoming a member of the DCA,   please  email  the   Regional Secretaries, specifying your question concerns the South West.
Generally we specify locations where we will meet on the Saturday evening of the rally weekend, generally with a pub close by. The slipways mentioned below are suggestions only, participants choose their own starting points depending on weather conditions and how far they wish to sail. Also, you don’t have to arrive by boat, we often have members travelling by land to join us at the pub near the rally location on Saturday evening.  It is not essential to contact the coordinator before attending a rally but it is a good idea to do so if you would like to make an informal arrangement to sail to the rally in company with other members or if the weather looks to be unfavourable and you wish to know whether others have decided to cancel or modify their plans.

Wilcove Inn
25 May      Wilcove, River Tamar

Venue is The Wilcove Inn. Wilcove is on the west bank of the Tamar, half a mile south of the Lynher River.
Launching can be from Saltash Jubilee Green Slip with free parking for car and trailer or from Mountbatten Sailing Centre Slipway which is near Plymouth Yacht Haven.

23- 30    June           Mylor Camping Week
Venue is Coastland Campsite, Mylor (300m east of Mylor Yacht Harbour). They offer camping with electric hookup, dinghy park and hand trolley launch across a NE facing shallow gravel beach directly into Carrick Roads (mud / fine sand further out). Tractor assist is available.   For a car trailer launch, Mylor has a free public slipway.

If you simply want to visit independently and sleep aboard, anchoring or by visiting Mylor Yacht Harbour, you could still join daysails and come ashore to chat in the evening. You would be very welcome.

Coastland campsite
7-8 September                Bere Ferrers, River Tavy
​Launching from Saltash or Mountbatten as per Wilcove rally above.
Evening venue is The Olde Plough Inn, Bere Ferrers.

It's a good idea to look at the Google satellite view of the position of the channel into Bere Ferrers which is in-line with the quay out to the middle of the river.   Note that the clearance under the railway bridge at the entrance to the Tavy is charted as 7.2m.

​Launching is available at Caffa Mill car park and Penmarlam Boatyard.   Caffa Mill pay-and-display car park and slipway are right next to the Bodinnick Ferry slip.    Penmarlam Boat Park at Mixtow Pill is booked through Fowey Harbour Office 01726 832471 and   must be done in advance because of ANPR at barrier. Further details in the Forum.

Evening venue is The Ship Inn. Boats can dry out at the bank between the small boats.
