14 – 16 June Orust, Sweden
Orust is a large island on the west coast of Sweden just north of Gothenburg. It is part of an archipelago consisting of large and small islands with fjords and coves to explore. The area should provide us with a number alternatives in terms of passage planning, depending on the conditions, with both open water and more sheltered options to choose between. There are few marinas in the area, so we will be “wild camping” or sleeping aboard our boats at anchor. Meet and launch at Mollösund where there is a good public slip. 9-11 August Limfjorden, Denmark
The Limfjorden is a strait that connects the North Sea in the west with the Baltic Sea in the east and boasts a large number of bays and inlets. It is relatively sheltered and the surrounding landscape is quite low-lying so the wind tends to be steady. The harbour of Sundsøre is intended as our start and end point, using the three days to either explore the islands of Fur and Livø if conditions permit, or or alternatively sail south to Skive Fjord or Lovns Bredning. The area has many cosy harbours with good facilities. |
