The DCA has had a longstanding relationship with small boat sailors in Poland and members from the UK have joined them on a number of occasions to explore the Baltic coast, rivers and lagoons. The group is led by Wojciech Baginski and he is now our Regional Secretary for the area.
They call their main rally Raid Pomerania and after a hiatus caused first by Covid and then the war, they got back on track in 2023. As always DCA members are welcome to join them as they extend their exploration of the Baltic coast.

22-26 May Raid Pomerania 2024
As usual, we propose a 4 sailing days long adventure and since we did not manage to sail around Kap Arcona last year, that will be our aim again this year. The gathering point on 22 May will be Barhöft harbour where we will prepare and rig the boats. If you are going to drive and tow or car-top your dinghy, follow directions for Barhöft, Yachthafen. This will be our first base. Barhöft gives us two options. Our primary aim will be to round Kap Arkona by sea, reaching one of the harbours located on the east shore of Rügen island. However if the winds are not favourable, we will explore the internal lagoons of Rügen island instead. |

Both options will end with a taxi ride back to Barhöft to pick up the cars and trailers left there. On Sunday most of the raiders will drive their long ways home. If you’d like to fly and crew on someone else's dinghy, take Berlin as the destination, then a train to Stralsund. We’ll pick you up from there. Please bring your own tents for overnight stops and stoves for cooking. However, if we land close to civilization, local B&Bs are also possible to stay in.
